There is a time in every single fanbase when it gets inmerse into an epic flamewar because of some important changes that the show/tvseries/band/autor they like has decided to make.

Aaaand it's bronies' turn this time:

Some time ago, this trailer came by [link] , and some bronies' reactions, which are perfectly respectable as much as those on the other side, were like this [link] . The problem is that, instead of just moving on, they have gone into Hate-mode, and started the biggest flamewar in the MLP fandom so far, and just like the Pony War that ignited in 4chan 2 years ago (which I watched first hoof), this one is full with a packload of an unusual unbrony hate and obvious overreaction.

So, what has happened to the fanbase? That some of it have a zero-tolerance to frustration about changes that get introduced in the show as it evolves. I'm, of course, talking about Princess Twilight Sparkle. After the Season 3's Finale, an important part of the fanbase went Chicken Little, claiming that it was over, that the shark has been jumped and that the show was ruined FOREVER. Every series at some point introduce new canon so they won't get stagnated and outdated by more interesting ones, and that always gives some controversy, but I do seriously think that the reaction to a minimal change (which was to give wings and a royal title to a main character who actually deserved it fair and square) was overly exaggerated. And now that the Twilicorn sh*tstorm has merged with the Equestria Girls one, I realize that part of the brony fanbase has degenerated into an overcritical mob that wants nothing to change, and of course, no canon to be added.

Does that mean that I like both Princess Twilight AND the EqG film? The answer is NO. While I like Princess Twilight because I find her cute with her new wings, and I think an alicorn with the mane 6 may give some interesting turns to the show, I think the EqG film is going to be pure crap, because it's not in the show's main line, and I personally don't like highschool-themed films. BUT that doesn't mean I think that the show is ruined FOREVER, because I know that the film is just a spin-off, which has nothing to do with the original show, which will keep on the awesome way it has been running till now.

Also, I haven't seen any quality drops in any of the S3 episodes, so claiming that the show's quality has dropped is a void argument.

Lurking on 4chan I found a post that clearly shows what's going on here, and I do strongly agree with it:

Don't get me wrong here, I'm a ponyfag like the most of you. I dislike yamino, purpletinker, and mando, I believe twilicorn could have been done alot better, and i'm definitely not a fan of Equestria Girls. But is there a point where our negativity and anger should stop?

What's the point in becoming angry and yelling at the writers when all this will accomplish is us destroying the show we all apparently love from the inside out?

I'm not saying eat the shit hasbro gives you, but maybe we've become way too cynical and critical about things, instead of watching an episode for fun we analyze everything that is wrong with them. We get angry at small inconsistencies that we used to just turn into stupid jokes, and we are currently creating a giant shit storm, to the point where some of the show staff are considering leaving, about something that isn't canon and if we wanted to, we could just ignore completely.

Point is, should we all step away from the computer and the mob mentality, and calm the **** down?>>

I think that Pony War II has begun. And I don't see anything good coming out from this
