Esa peña, ¿Cómo os va? A mi me va bien, salvo por una pequeña duda existencial que mora en lo más hondo de mi mente: ¿Desde cuando en este país en el que vivimos celebramos Halloween? No, es que me parece muy raro todo esto. Yo recuerdo cuando iba a aprender inglés a una academia cuyos profesores eran norteamericanos y el día de Halloween lo celebrábamos jugando, tomando dulces y disfrazándonos. Pero eso no quedaba más allá de los muros de la academia, y cuando salíamos nos olvidábamos de la fiesta e íbamos a acordarnos de nuestros seres queridos ya fallecidos. De eso trata el Día de Difuntos, un día para recordar y honrar a las personas que ya no están entre nosotros. Y de eso tratan otras celebraciones paralelas de origen español, como el Día de los Muertos en Mexico y otros países iberoamericanos.

Así es que anduve viendo ayer a niños y niñas vestidos de vampiros, zombies y demás, llevando bolsas con forma de calabaza y entrando en los portales diciendo "¡Truco o Trato!". Esos niños, probablemente, hayan sido ya contaminados por la cultura comercial-imperialista de cierto país que no voy a nombrar. Es una vergüenza que un país que se confiesa antiimperialista entre al trapo de aceptar fiestas que no le son propias únicamente por intereses comerciales. Yo creo firmemente que, si seguimos así, acabamos celebrando el día de San Patricio, al Año Nuevo Chino (con perdón para los españoles de origen chino que sí lo celebran) y hasta el día del cumpleaños de Adolf Hitler.

Así que os dejo esta frase para que la vayais asimilando:

Today I discovered something that almost made me fall in tears: Saw VI The Movie, the last one from the 2nd Saw Trilogy, has been banned from Spain, which rated the film as X (Pornographic), allowing it to be seen only in the X Cinemas, which do not exist nowadays here in Spain. This strange ban has been the most terrible one since Franco's censorship.

I promise that I'll watch this film, shall either the Ministry of Culture want it or not.


Help me to spread my own dissease:
